WIRE SCULPTED GLASS DESIGNS

Pendants on this page are wrapped in sterling silver wire or 14-kt gold filled wire. No solder or glue is used to hold the pendant in place only the swirls of wire. Intensity, iridescence and play of light in the dichroic pieces are difficult to capture in a photo. The Pendants are individually made and kiln fired to temperatures of about 1500 degrees. The glass is layered using art glass, dichroic glass (special glass with metal oxides) and clear glass for depth.

Pieces take normal jewelry care. For polishing, use a specially treated silver cloth, silver dip, or toothpaste (not gel) and an old toothbrush. To keep tarnish to a minimum, store in plastic zip lock bag, cover with a piece of foil in jewelry box or a use a specially treated anti-tarnish paper or cloth. Wear often to prevent tarnish build up.

New Designs in Wire Sculpting
For those who like a little less emphasis surrounding their glass, less wire sculpting but a heavier guage wire is used to create a new design encasing the dichroic glass. Some swirls have been hammered for texture.
